LEAD magazine launched in September 2017 with a bold mission: to define, analyse and showcase how leadership by women and under-represented groups is creating a massive shift in the way business and politics are being conducted. Launching simultaneously in print and online, the publishers of LEAD approached us at the 11th hour, realising their usual agency couldn’t make the deadline. Could we possibly create a new website from scratch in just two weeks, in time for a big reveal at their launch party? We were excited to get involved with this venture and pulled out all the stops to deliver everything they asked us for — bang on time.
The busy team behind LEAD gave us a basic wireframe sketch, alongside their brand guide and a partial mockup of the inaugural print issue. They asked for a classic news layout and clean, minimalist design. The site needed capacity to carry advertising and had to include a homepage feature slider and promoted content. It also needed to welcome subscribers and integrate social channels. As ever, we’ve created a user-friendly site, that’s search engine optimised, responsive across devices, compatible with different browsers, installed with an SSL certificate, and optimised for speed.
